8 Different Ways to Eat Bananas

My 8 Favorite Ways to Eat Bananas

Did you know there is a national day to celebrate bananas? I didn’t either — but since I love bananas, I couldn’t pass up the chance to celebrate by sharing all the different ways to eat bananas! From smoothies to sweet treats, bananas are such a versatile fruit and a staple our kitchen.

Not only are they tasty, but bananas are packed with good-for-you nutrients — natural carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Plus they’re a great on-the-go snack that gives you a healthy energy boost when you need it most.

Here are 8 of my favorite ways to eat bananas, including some go-to recipes that I absolutely love!

1. As-Is — Nature’s Perfect Snack 🍌

Let’s not overthink it — sometimes a simple banana is the best choice. Easy to grab, naturally sweet, delicious, and ready whenever you are!

2. Frozen & Sliced for Smoothies

I love slicing ripe bananas and keeping them in the freezer for smoothies. They make the texture super creamy and help naturally sweeten your creation. (Tip: Check out my Protein Shake Ideas with 40 Grams of Protein for ideas!)

3. Banana Protein Pancakes

Coconut Blueberry Protein Pancakes from Love Sweat Fitness are SO good and perfect for weekend brunches or even breakfast-for-dinner nights. You have to give them a try!

4. Banana Bark

One of my favorite sweet treats right now is banana bark! It’s such a fun and simple recipe! This recipe calls for peanuts, which I’m sure would be a delicious addition; however, I make my banana bark without the peanuts (see below). Try it either way! It’s so easy to make and the perfect amount of sweetness for a little dessert!

5. Frozen Banana Bite “Sandwiches”

Think of these as mini ice cream sandwiches — but healthier! These frozen banana bites are filled with nut butter and dipped in chocolate… absolutely addicting and delicious!

6. Strawberry Banana Bark

These star-shaped creations are just perfectly sweet. See number four above (Banana Bark) for the images of this tasty treat! As well as my post on Simple Meal & Snack Prep Tips for a Healthier Week. So cute, so easy to make, and so yummy!

7. Flourless Protein Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

These Flourless Protein Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins are fluffy, just the right amount of sweet, and great for meal prep! I love making a batch to have ready for busy mornings.

8. Banana Cookies

Yes, banana cookies are a thing — and they’re delicious. Especially when they’re soft, chewy, and maybe even a little chocolatey! Here are two different recipes I like to make on repeat:

There are so many fun ways to eat bananas, and they are one of those foods that always find a way into my meals and snacks. From smoothies to sweets, they’re so easy to work with and always hit the spot.
